Recording of events other than concerts

Holy Bible - King James VersionWe are often asked if we are able to record events that are not specifically music orientated. These might include memorial concerts or church services, and we are able to provide a discreet yet effective recording service for all such occasions.

In these cases visual discretion is of paramount importance and although we will never claim to be invisible, we are confident that our recording solutions will create the minimum of impact on the event. By liaising closely with venues we are often able to make full use of installed PA systems and together with our low-profile microphones we will be able to obtain the maximum of coverage with the required discretion. The recordings aim to convey a sense of occasion to the listener and can be likened to the approach used by the BBC for daily worship on Radio 4.

After the event we will edit the recording to remove unwanted pauses etc. and produce CD copies with a booklet / inlay based on the order of service or programme.

We are also able to provide a web based system allowing people around the world to listen to the event via their internet web browsers within a few hours of the event taking place. This solution is ideal for families with relatives on the other side of the globe who can be sent details by e-mail telling them how to access the recording.

Case Study: Funeral Service for The Duke of Bedford
The Church of St. Clement Danes, Strand, London - June 2003

The Classical Recording Company were engaged by Her Grace The Duchess of Bedford to record the funeral service for her late husband Henry Robin Ian XIVth Duke of Bedford at the Chuch of St. Clement Danes in the Strand.

After discussions with the chaplain, choir master and the security services, a detailed yet discreet microphone placement was agreed that covered all key elements of the service from the music to the readings. The recording was made to multi-track and remixed the following day to produce a CD pre-master. A CD booklet and inlay were designed, based on the order of service and we produced 500 CDs within 8 days which were sent to family and friends all over the world.
