Spanish Spice - 17th century music with a modern twist, demanding invention and virtuosity - allowing space for individual choice, improvisation, rhythmic variety and instrumentation - thus making each performance unique.

The flamenco dancer Ester, creates an exciting link between early music and the folk world of flamenco - a fusion forged by the discovery that 'Baile', 17th century Street dance style, resembled flamenco techniques with its vibrant foot work and lavish arm and hand movements.

Inspired by haunting flamenco legends, the gypsy origin of the Xacaras, and the transformative power of the Tarantela, this recording immortalises the 'Spirit of Eclipse' on one day in a little church in Dorset.
